Actually, it was not built by the Spanish, it was renovated/extended. It was already built before Rajah Suleiman was born. The ancient Tagalog settlers built it already as a fortified “Kota/Kuta” meaning fortress with a large Barangay inside. When De Legazpi arrived in “Maynila”, he decided to move the capital from Sugbu (Cebu) to Maynila because of the sophisticated lifestyle of people. The then fortress where fortified with locally created bronze cannons (by Panday Pira) called “Lantaka”.

wow so nice but it’s really a shame to know that local filipinos can not afford to go or taste what’s been all about. the reallity the onw who can afford are not all filipinos coz they are only earning a minimum of 300 pesos a day not even enought to eat for a semi decent restaurant in manila.those who can afford are filipinos who came from abroad and some ofw, so pitty filipinos there should be equallity in life. wake up the government should do something, filipino do workk but not compensated
minsan nag-aaalala ako kumain sa buffet sa pilipinas hindi ako makakain ng marami kasi kinukulang tayo sa food doon…pero dito sa US i don’t care kumakain ako sa buffet okay lang kumain ng marami…parang kino kontrol ko kumain sa buffet sa pilipinas kasi iniisip ko mahal ang pagkain at naaawa ako sa may-ari ng buffet baka malugi…i am not wasteful at minsan nanghihinayang ako pag may kumakain at di nya mauubos lalo na sa pinas…hindi rin ako makakain maige baka nood cla sakin kain sa pinas
